A longtime participant in WVU student outreach programs, Dr. Frances Van Scoy was a charter member of the Phi Kappa Phi chapter at Old Dominion University.

Dr. Van Scoy is an associate professor in the WVU Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, where she is a member of the CSEE Academy of distinguished alumni and faculty. She has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in mathematics from Michigan State University.

Dr. Van Scoy's current research interests include information assurance and game development. She serves as faculty advisor for the WVU Game Developers Club.
